Is Graveyard Keeper 2 Early Access?

No — Graveyard Keeper 2 launches as a complete game on September 22, 2026. What the developers said, and how the demo relates to the full release.

The short answer

No. Graveyard Keeper 2 is not an Early Access title — it launches as a complete game on September 22, 2026.

That’s not an inference from store tags: a developer (developer badge on the official Steam forums) stated it directly on September 11: “Graveyard Keeper 2 is launching fully, not into Early Access!” The Steam page likewise lists no Early Access tag — the game is simply “coming soon” until September 22.

Then what is the demo?

The demo is a free, self-contained preview — not a paid early build:

  • It went live on September 14, 2026 on Steam, Xbox, PlayStation and Switch 2
  • It holds an 86% positive rating on Steam (379 reviews as of Sep 19)
  • It’s separate from the full game — you don’t pay anything for it

Does my demo progress transfer?

Yes. Official FAQ: “You will be able to continue your demo save files in the full game, once it is out on September 22nd.” Your demo save carries into the full game from day one.

  • When exactly does it unlock? September 22, 2026 — see Release Info for price and pre-order details. (Exact hour: not announced yet.)
  • Is the full game more expensive after launch? The -20% pre-purchase deal ($19.99) ends September 22 per the Steam page; after that the price returns to $24.99 unless a new promotion appears.
