Your First Iron Supply Factory Line

Start with one product: Supply: Iron. Its factory chain turns Iron Ore and Coal into Iron Ingots at a Smithy, then turns the ingots into supply crates at an Assembly bench. Check each connection before extending the line.

Follow the product through the line

1. Inputs: bring the selected recipe’s ore and coal into the Smithy through its input connections.
2. Smelting: select the factory Iron Ingot recipe at the Smithy.
3. Assembly: connect the ingot output to an Assembly bench with the factory Supply: Iron recipe selected.
4. Delivery: route the crate output toward the appropriate supply storage. Check the order separately using the iron delivery guide.

Assign workers to factory workstations, link the stations with conveyor belts, and check gear capacity. Operating more Carousels increases that capacity. This is a production-chain reference, not a tested floor plan or a claim that these are the only buildings you need.

Ordinary iron and factory iron

The ordinary and factory recipes reference the same Iron Ingot item. A supply problem therefore does not establish that the metals are incompatible. Check the exact recipe and how its station receives inputs. A regional chest does not substitute for the factory machine’s conveyor connection.

Choose the ingot recipe, crate recipe, Smithy placement or Assembly bench placement above. Batch counts apply to the selected recipe only; construction is paid once. Belt length, input/output storage and power setup depend on the layout and are not included in these machine budgets.
