Finish the burial tutorial, show the certificate to the captain, and open the village and garden tasks.
Settling in and the first burial
Follow the opening tutorial home, finish the conversation indoors, then sleep. The first wake-up leads into the graveyard tutorial and basic woodworking.
Prepare by trip
Destinations and recipients: Graveyard: tools and first burial; crossroads: show the certificate to the captain.
Carry materials in batches for their stated purposes, not all in one trip. Blank means unknown; 0 means none. Do not allocate the same material to two uses. Update the actual remainder after delivery.
- Rusty Shovel × 1
Take it from the graveyard chest and equip it in the tool belt.
Quantity unconfirmed - Rusty Hammer × 1
Provided in the same chest; equip it in the tool belt.
Quantity unconfirmed - Wooden Sign × 1
Install it during the first burial tutorial. The chest contains 3.
Quantity unconfirmed
Clear the carried quantities entered in this chapter and its packing confirmation. Keep completed steps, your note and other chapters’ records.
Steps
Rest at home to finish the opening tutorial
Follow the opening route home, finish the story conversation inside, then sleep in the bed. After waking, check the new tutorial: basic woodworking is available. Go outside the morgue to meet the corpse-delivery donkey. You do not need a complete production setup first.
Put the first corpse on the autopsy table
Finish the donkey dialogue, pick up the corpse, carry it into the morgue and place it on the autopsy table. Open the autopsy interface, read the tutorial, close the interface and take the corpse outside again. This tutorial advances by placing the corpse and opening and closing the interface; removing extra organs is not required. Fat and blood for later tasks can come from later corpses.
Collect the tools, dig and complete the burial
Carry the corpse into the graveyard and read the tutorial. Take the shovel, hammer and one wooden marker from the chest; equip the tools. Place a grave using the graveyard building menu, dig it with the shovel, insert the corpse and fill the grave. A placed blueprint alone is not a completed burial.
Install the wooden marker and check your certificate
Interact with the filled grave and install Wooden Sign from the chest. Finish the marker tutorial and follow-up dialogue. Make sure the burial certificate is in your inventory before leaving; do not leave your first certificate in the chest.
Show the certificate to the captain at the crossroads
Return to the crossroads and choose the burial-certificate task dialogue with the captain. This checks that you carry the certificate but does not consume it. Finish the dialogue to start the village, garden and graveyard-quality tasks. Then enter the village for the merchant and brothers in the next chapter.
While you wait
Take the 2 flitches from the chest near the yard building sign. Keep them for the first sawhorse in the next chapter; do not process all your starting materials into something else.
Enough for now
Move on to the village after the first burial and the certificate dialogue. Graveyard quality 10 is a later, overlapping goal; you do not need to clear the entire cemetery now.
If you are stuck
I have a shovel but cannot dig a grave
Put the shovel in your tool belt and place a grave through the graveyard building menu. Standing on empty ground does not start digging.
The burial is done, but village tasks have not opened
Finish the wooden marker tutorial and follow-up conversation, then carry the certificate to the captain and choose its task dialogue. Reading this page or owning the certificate does not replace that conversation.
The captain has seen the certificate. The village, garden and graveyard-quality tasks can continue.
Accept the villagers’ requests, start growing wheat and prepare the processing equipment needed for the boat.
Village and basic production
First meet Herm at the village shop and buy seeds. Return home, unlock a garden bed and plant your first wheat.
Prepare by trip
Destinations and recipients: Home garden: sow; village shop, Herm: deliver wheat; village brothers: deliver clay plates.
Carry materials in batches for their stated purposes, not all in one trip. Blank means unknown; 0 means none. Do not allocate the same material to two uses. Update the actual remainder after delivery.
- Wheat seed × 4
Consumed when sowing; these are not the wheat delivered to the merchant.
Quantity unconfirmed - Wheat × 5
Delivered to the merchant and consumed.
Quantity unconfirmed - Clay Plate × 6
Delivered for the brothers’ request and consumed.
Quantity unconfirmed
Clear the carried quantities entered in this chapter and its packing confirmation. Keep completed steps, your note and other chapters’ records.
Steps
Visit the tavern, then the merchant
Go south from the crossroads into the village. Enter the tavern and finish the first conversation with Januarius, then visit the shop and talk to Herm. This connects the wheat request and the brothers’ event. If village access is still blocked, first show the burial certificate to the captain at the crossroads.
Equip your tools and activate the first mastery increase
Put the starting axe, pickaxe, shovel and hammer in the tool belt. Axe and pickaxe each provide 1 construction mastery; shovel provides 1 farming mastery; hammer provides 1 smithing mastery. Carrying them in the bag is not enough. Complete 5 tree-chopping actions and 3 collections from small stone piles you can handle. Claim both first-tier rewards on the inspiration page: the total 2 experience gives the first construction talent point. Buy the first construction mastery increase to reach 3 with axe and pickaxe, allowing wedges and stone pieces. Do not tackle large rocks beyond your mastery just for stone inspiration.
Plant first so crops grow while you craft
Unlock Gardening for 5 green points and place a bed through the home garden building menu. Carry 4 Wheat seed per sowing, equip the shovel and select wheat at the bed. The crop starts growing after sowing. Meanwhile gather from berry bushes 3 times and collect mushrooms 3 times. Claim each first-tier inspiration reward, then buy the first farming mastery increase. With the equipped shovel, farming mastery reaches 2 so you can harvest ripe wheat. Harvest and obtain at least 5 Wheat before delivery; one sowing does not guarantee that total.
Accept the clay-plate request
Trigger the brothers’ conversation near the bridge south of the village. Talk to Heffry first, then wait for Jeffry to reach his destination and speak to him there. Prepare the plates after accepting the request. Merely walking past them does not complete it.
Set up wood and nail processing in the yard
The first wake-up at home unlocks The Concept of Wood. Open the chest near the yard building sign and take its 2 Board for your first sawhorse. It also contains 100 water; keep 5 for the brick kiln. Place Sawhorse through the yard building menu using 2 Board and 4 Stick. The sawhorse turns 1 Log into 4 Board. Unlock Bronze Works, build Wooden Anvil with 1 Short Log and 1 Stone, then turn 1 Bronze Scrap bought from the merchant into at least 6 Bronze Nails. Unlock Woodworking I and build Woodworking Workbench I with 8 Board and 4 nails. Each Board can become 1 Wooden Plank.
Make two batches of plates for the first reputation reward
Unlock The Concept of Stone, then Pottery I. Stone processing also needs Wood wedge from Chopping; make them from short logs at the chopping spot. Build the stonecutter with 2 wooden planks and 2 bronze nails. Process 2 stones and 4 wedges into 4 Piece of stone. Build Potter's Wheel with 2 wooden planks and 1 stone piece. Gather clay at the riverside deposit southwest of home, keeping the shovel equipped. Gathering here requires construction mastery 2, supplied by the starting axe and pickaxe, not farming mastery. Each plate recipe consumes 2 clay and produces 3 clay plates. Make two batches for 6 plates and deliver them to gain 5 village reputation.
Harvest wheat for the other reputation reward
When the wheat is ripe, harvest it and carry 5 wheat to Herm at the shop. Delivery consumes the wheat and adds another 5 village reputation. Together with the plates this reaches 10, opening the boat-helper conversation.
While you wait
While wheat grows, work on clay plates and wood processing. If a recipe needs more mastery, check the tool belt and the recipe’s effective mastery. There is no need to build a large factory just to fill the wait.
Enough for now
The merchant needs 5 wheat and the brothers need 6 clay plates for these requests. Seeds, equipment and plates for later alchemy have separate uses; do not count them as delivered.
If you are stuck
Clay plates or wedges are unlocked but cannot be made
Technology unlocks the recipe, not its mastery requirement. Clay plates need the relevant mastery at 2; wedges and stone pieces need construction mastery 3. Check the effective value at the workstation, then add the appropriate talent or tool.
I met the brothers, but cannot deliver anything
Finish the merchant’s first conversation, then the brothers’ event, Heffry’s dialogue and Jeffry’s dialogue after he reaches his destination. Carry the requested materials.
Wheat and clay plates have actually been delivered, village reputation is 10, and you can make wooden planks.
Complete Jack’s boat requests, confirm his departure and receive the letter that opens the magic-bell recipe and nun’s task.
Village reputation and Jack’s boat
Met the merchant but have no boat request? Sleep at home, finish the wake-up event, then find Jack in the village.
Prepare by trip
Destinations and recipients: Jack in the village: deliver planks, then finished tools; village brothers: arrange help.
Carry materials in batches for their stated purposes, not all in one trip. Blank means unknown; 0 means none. Do not allocate the same material to two uses. Update the actual remainder after delivery.
- Wooden Plank × 5
First delivery; consumed.
Quantity unconfirmed - Bronze Axe × 1
Second delivery; consumed, not just an equipment check.
Quantity unconfirmed - Bronze Hammer × 1
Delivered with the bronze axe and consumed.
Quantity unconfirmed
Clear the carried quantities entered in this chapter and its packing confirmation. Keep completed steps, your note and other chapters’ records.
Check crafting prerequisites
Both bronze axe and bronze hammer technologies are unlocked
Check the axe and hammer branches separately; both require bronze processing first.
The hardening bucket is connected to the anvil you are using
The bucket costs 4 wooden planks and 8 bronze nails. Place it beside the anvil and confirm the workstation recognizes it.
This recipe’s effective smithing mastery is at least 2
Equip a suitable hammer and check smithing talents. Use the value shown for the current recipe; a bronze hammer not yet crafted cannot unlock its own first craft.
Steps
Wake up to the boat request
After the first shop encounter, the next wake-up at home triggers Jack’s boat event. Finish it and check that the task requirements appeared. If not, finish the initial shop conversation before sleeping again.
Deliver 5 wooden planks first
Carry 5 Wooden Plank to Jack in the village and choose the boat-materials dialogue. This delivery opens the tool and helper requests. Putting materials in a chest does not count.
Build the kiln and furnace, then smelt scrap
Follow Pottery I to unlock Brick Making. Build Kiln in the yard with 4 Piece of stone, 5 Clay and 5 Water. Each brick batch uses 4 clay and 10 fuel to produce 6 Brick; make two batches for the first furnace. Unlock Bronze Melting, then build Furnace I with 6 stone pieces and 12 bricks. Smelting 3 purchased Bronze Scrap with 20 fuel produces at least 2 Bronze Ingot. Make two batches; use 1 ingot for parts and reserve 2 for the axe and hammer. Add fuel to the machine’s fuel slot; firewood left in the bag is not enough.
Connect the hardening bucket and make bronze details
Unlock Bronze Craft and build Hardening Bucket beside the anvil with 4 Wooden Plank and 8 Bronze Nails. Confirm that the anvil recognizes the extension, then use 1 bronze ingot to make at least 6 Bronze Detail; the two tools need 4 parts in total. Effective smithing mastery must be 2; the starting hammer provides 1. If you have no talent point available, craft bronze nails from scrap 3 times and clear 5 accessible broken barrel racks or pots. Claim both first-tier inspiration rewards for the first smithing talent point, then buy the first mastery increase for the missing point. Keep the nails for equipment. Inspiration experience is not active mastery until claimed and spent, and you cannot rely on a bronze hammer you have not made yet.
Make the bronze axe and hammer, then deliver them
Unlock Bronze Blades and Bronze Instruments; both follow Bronze Craft. Connect Hardening Bucket beside Wooden Anvil and reach effective smithing mastery 2. Each tool needs 2 Stick, 2 Bronze Detail and 1 Bronze Ingot; together that is 4 sticks, 4 bronze details and 2 bronze ingots. Carry the finished axe and hammer to Jack and choose the tool delivery. Both are consumed. If you were using them, check your tool belt afterwards.
Use village reputation to arrange help
At village reputation 10, speak to Jeffry or Heffry and choose the dialogue about helping Jack row. This checks 10 reputation; it does not spend it. You do not deliver another 5 bronze details here.
Ask whether everything is ready
After delivering the tools and arranging help, return to Jack and ask whether everything is ready. Finish that task dialogue before waiting for departure; do not skip it because the inventory looks complete.
Sleep and confirm the boat has left
After the ready dialogue, sleep at home. The wake-up event advances the boat story to departure and starts the wait for the letter. If the bed refuses rest, spend energy on currently needed crafting, then return.
Sleep again and read the letter
After departure, sleep again and check the wake-up event and letter: Magic bell unlocks and the tavern nun’s task begins. If another wake-up scene intervenes, finish it and check the letter task next. Confirm these two visible results instead of only counting sleeps.
While you wait
Make planks and tools while wheat grows. At village reputation 10, you can also ask about summoning a fairy in the tavern to prepare the doctor and distillation tasks. These story threads can overlap.
Enough for now
Deliver 5 wooden planks and 1 each of the bronze axe and bronze hammer. Building costs and raw materials for the tools are separate. Any spare tools for yourself are optional and are not part of Jack’s delivery.
If you are stuck
I have bronze details but cannot deliver the boat tools
The checked 1.007.1 request needs a finished bronze axe and bronze hammer. Parts are crafting ingredients, not substitutes for this delivery.
I have everything but no ready-to-go option
Check the delivery of 5 planks, the delivery of both tools and the reputation 10 helper conversation with the brothers. Owning the materials is not completing the tasks.
I slept but still have no magic-bell recipe
Check the ready dialogue and departure event first, then the letter at the next wake-up. Sleep only advances events that have already started.
Jack has departed. His letter has arrived, the magic-bell recipe is available and the tavern nun’s task has started.
Reach the required graveyard and church qualities, hold the first sermon and deliver 3 faith to the captain.
Church and first faith
Improve the graveyard while waiting for wheat or the boat’s departure. After Jack’s letter, start the church story by meeting the nun in the tavern.
Prepare by trip
Destinations and recipients: Church beside the graveyard: clear clutter and build pews; captain at the crossroads: deliver faith.
Carry materials in batches for their stated purposes, not all in one trip. Blank means unknown; 0 means none. Do not allocate the same material to two uses. Update the actual remainder after delivery.
- Wooden Plank × 6
Total for three basic church pews.
Quantity unconfirmed - Bronze Nails × 18
Total for three pews; excludes grave decorations.
Quantity unconfirmed - Bronze Detail × 4
Clear the four church blockages.
Quantity unconfirmed - Board × 4
Used with parts to clear the church blockages.
Quantity unconfirmed - Faith × 3
Deliver to the captain after obtaining it; consumed. Do not spend it on paid inspiration first.
Quantity unconfirmed
Clear the carried quantities entered in this chapter and its packing confirmation. Keep completed steps, your note and other chapters’ records.
Steps
Check total graveyard quality, then add useful decoration
Check the graveyard’s total quality; the target is 10. Fill graves already dug so empty pits do not retain their -3 penalty. Use the remaining wooden markers from the chest first. After unlocking Wooden Gravestones I, make wooden markers and fences at the woodworking bench. Each needs 2 planks, 2 bronze nails and effective construction mastery 2. Install them on occupied graves with room to improve: decoration quality is reduced by red skulls and capped by white skulls. More decoration on a capped grave does not raise the total. Process later corpses, bury and decorate them until the graveyard interface shows at least 10.
Report to the captain after reaching the target
Return to the crossroads and choose the graveyard-quality task dialogue. The value 10 is an area-quality check, not a cost. This conversation starts the request for 3 faith. Even if quality is already sufficient, you must report it for the later delivery option to appear.
After the letter, meet the nun and accept church repairs
Once Jack’s letter starts the nun’s task, enter the village tavern and complete the first conversation with Nun. Accept the church request, then personally enter the church beside the graveyard. That first entry is also a prerequisite for the ready dialogue.
Remove negative-quality clutter, then build three pews
The church starts with 13 groups of broken pots and 4 blockages, each subtracting 2 quality. Equip the hammer; clearing pots requires effective construction mastery at least 2. Each blockage needs 1 bronze detail and 1 flitch, with clearing-recipe mastery 2. After clearing, keep the donation box that contributes 1 quality. Place three basic pews through the church building menu. Each costs 2 planks and 6 bronze nails and contributes 3 quality when finished: 1 + 3 × 3 = 10. Use the actual total in the church interface; placing a blueprint is not completing construction.
Tell the nun you are ready and take the prayer to the pulpit
After reaching church quality 10 and entering the church, choose the ready dialogue with the nun to receive the basic prayer. This first story event enables a sermon immediately, so go to the pulpit instead of waiting for the later recurring schedule. Insert the basic prayer in its slot and check attendance and the interface conditions before starting. The basic prayer requires at least 4 visitors. Actual attendance is the lower of current happiness and church quality; quality 10 alone does not ensure enough visitors.
Finish the report and actually collect the rewards
Close the sermon report and finish the nun’s follow-up conversation, then check rewards and the faith in your bag. Reserve 3 for the main task. If you have too little, complete village requests that increase happiness and hold another sermon on the next available day. Later availability opens on the day of wrath, not after any arbitrary sleep. Expected rewards on the screen are not items already collected.
Take 3 faith to the captain
Carry 3 Faith to the crossroads and choose the captain’s faith delivery. It is removed from your bag, opening the barracks, military-quality and magic-bell tasks. Work in the next chapter can overlap the sermon wait, but this delivery must happen before battle.
While you wait
If sermons are not available yet, complete village requests for happiness or continue accepted doctor, distillation and woodworking tasks. Do not keep rebuilding a church that already meets the target.
Enough for now
This stage requires graveyard quality 10, church quality 10 and a delivery of 3 faith. Advanced prayers, church upgrades and extensive graveyard decoration can wait.
If you are stuck
A better marker did not improve the total quality
Inspect the grave’s red and white skulls and actual quality. If decoration is capped by white skulls, improve another grave with room left instead of blindly crafting more.
Church quality is 10 but there is no ready dialogue
Check that you met the nun in the tavern after the letter and personally entered the church. Then report back to her.
The prayer is inserted but the sermon will not start
Check sermon availability, attendance and the prayer’s requirements separately. The basic prayer needs at least 4 people. Increase happiness if attendance is low; later sermons wait for the day of wrath. More pews alone do not solve this.
The first sermon is complete and 3 faith have been delivered. The captain’s barracks-quality and magic-bell requests have appeared.
Find the doctor, establish the chain from melted fat to reinforced planks, and make the magic bell.
Alchemy and battle preparations
At village reputation 10, ask Januarius about the fairy in the tavern, then return home for the basement event. You do not need to finish the entire church sequence first.
Prepare by trip
Destinations and recipients: Home basement: clear the blockage; alchemy laboratory: build the cube and distill; anvil: make the bell.
Carry materials in batches for their stated purposes, not all in one trip. Blank means unknown; 0 means none. Do not allocate the same material to two uses. Update the actual remainder after delivery.
- Bronze Detail × 5
3 to clear the basement, 2 to build the cube; reinforced-plank costs are separate.
Quantity unconfirmed - Wooden Plank × 5
3 to clear the blockage, 2 to build the cube; oiled-plank costs are separate.
Quantity unconfirmed - Brick × 12
Build one distillation cube.
Quantity unconfirmed - Fat × 1
The first batch of melted fat.
Quantity unconfirmed - Clay Plate × 2
Consumed by distillation. Plates delivered to the brothers cannot be reused here.
Quantity unconfirmed - Blood × 1
Consumed when making the magic bell.
Quantity unconfirmed - Bronze Ingot × 1
Consumed with blood to make the magic bell.
Quantity unconfirmed
Clear the carried quantities entered in this chapter and its packing confirmation. Keep completed steps, your note and other chapters’ records.
Check crafting prerequisites
Effective construction mastery for oiled planks is at least 4
Equip your own bronze axe and starting pickaxe, and buy the first construction increase. The axe taken by Jack no longer contributes.
Reinforced-plank technology is unlocked
Report graveyard quality for guard reputation 20, then follow bronze smelting and the reputation node to reinforced planks.
Effective smithing mastery for reinforced planks is at least 4
Your bronze hammer contributes 2; the first two smithing increases add 1 each. Inspiration experience earned while crafting still needs to be claimed and spent.
Steps
Follow the fairy conversation into the basement
At village reputation 10, choose the fairy task dialogue with Januarius in the tavern. Return home for the next conversation and enter the basement. After meeting the doctor and receiving the clearing request, use 3 planks and 3 bronze details to open the passage; effective construction mastery must be 3. Continue down the new route, read the clues and dialogue, and obtain the doctor’s meeting password. Leaving immediately after clearing misses the door-opening item.
Enter with the password and medal, then finish alchemy teaching
Bring the story medal and doctor’s meeting password to the tower door and perform the opening interaction. It uses the password and returns the medal. Inside, complete the floor-hatch event and continue the doctor’s powder and alchemy teaching until the initial alchemy technology is unlocked. Making dream dust is a subsequent task, not an extra prerequisite for building the distillation cube.
Build the distillation cube in the laboratory
Unlock Alchemy, Distillation for 5 red and 5 green points, following the initial alchemy technology granted by the story. Use the laboratory building menu: the cube costs 2 planks, 2 bronze details and 12 bricks. Add fuel after construction. Keep recipe ingredients separate from these one-time building costs.
Extract fat and finish the first distillation batch
Obtain fat from later corpses at the morgue, and reserve blood for the bell. Bring 1 Fat and 2 Clay Plate to the cube, add at least 20 fuel required by the recipe and choose Melted Fat. The base output is 4 per batch. Both plates and fat are consumed; the 6 plates already delivered cannot be counted again.
Reach construction mastery 4, then make oiled planks
Follow basic woodworking and stoneworking through the tool-rack technology to Oiled wood. A technology prerequisite does not mean this recipe requires the tool-rack extension; oiled planks themselves need no extension. Jack consumed your bronze axe, so make and equip a replacement. Together with the starting pickaxe and first construction mastery increase, it gives 2 + 1 + 1 = 4. At the woodworking bench, 1 melted fat and 4 planks make a batch of Oiled Plank, with base output 4.
Reach smithing mastery 4, then make reinforced planks
Report the graveyard-quality task to reach guard reputation 20. Unlock bronze smelting, the following guard-reputation node and Reinforced Plank. Keep a bronze hammer for yourself and buy the first two smithing mastery increases, each worth 1: 2 + 1 + 1 = 4. The boat stage supplied the first point; the second needs 3 inspiration experience. Claim the free first-tier burning reward (5 actions), first-tier bronze-ingot reward (3 actions) and second-tier clutter-clearing reward. Complete and claim the counts shown on the inspiration page; recipe executions are not output quantities. At the anvil, 1 oiled plank and 2 bronze details make 1 Reinforced Plank. This recipe itself does not require Hardening Bucket.
Use the letter’s recipe to make the magic bell
Confirm that Jack’s letter was read and the magic-bell recipe appeared. Use 1 blood and 1 bronze ingot at the anvil to craft Magic bell, with effective smithing mastery at least 3. No Hardening Bucket extension is required. Keep the bell in your bag for actual delivery to the captain in the next chapter.
While you wait
While the kiln and distillation run, process corpses, check sermon availability or replenish planks and bronze details for the next chapter’s actual shortage. Do not build a second setup just to wait for one batch of fat.
Enough for now
Start with one distillation cube and one batch of melted fat. Make reinforced planks according to the barracks deficit. All alchemy research, dream dust and an automated factory are not required first.
If you are stuck
Distillation is unlocked but I cannot find the cube
Finish the powder and alchemy tutorial dialogue in the doctor’s tower. Use the alchemy laboratory’s building menu, not the yard’s.
I upgraded tools but cannot make oiled planks after Jack’s delivery
Check your tool belt. The delivered bronze axe and hammer were consumed; make replacement tools for yourself. Inventory counts and website checkmarks cannot replace actual mastery.
Reinforced-plank technology is still locked
Check the graveyard report, guard reputation 20 and the bronze-smelting prerequisite. Reaching graveyard quality 10 without reporting it does not unlock the reputation node.
The cube is working, oiled and reinforced planks can be made, and the magic bell is crafted. Confirm its delivery and barracks construction separately in the next chapter.
Report military quality, deliver the magic bell, win the first major battle and reunite with Jack at the port.
First battle and the port
After delivering faith, check the barracks’ actual military quality and the magic-bell task. Crafting materials and completing tasks need separate confirmation.
Prepare by trip
Destinations and recipients: Military-defense building menu: build the missing barricades; captain at the crossroads: deliver the bell.
Carry materials in batches for their stated purposes, not all in one trip. Blank means unknown; 0 means none. Do not allocate the same material to two uses. Update the actual remainder after delivery.
- Magic bell × 1
Delivered to the captain and consumed.
Quantity unconfirmed - Reinforced Plank × 2
Per basic barricade; repeat according to the military-quality deficit.
Quantity unconfirmed - Bronze Nails × 6
Per basic barricade.
Quantity unconfirmed - Short Log × 2
Per basic barricade.
Quantity unconfirmed
Clear the carried quantities entered in this chapter and its packing confirmation. Keep completed steps, your note and other chapters’ records.
Check crafting prerequisites
Basic barricade technology is unlocked
Follow bronze smelting, the guard reputation 20 node and reinforced planks to basic barricades. Unlock the technology before using the military-defense building menu.
Steps
Read barracks quality and build enough defenses to reach 12
Enter the barracks and read current military quality Q. Follow reinforced planks to unlock Simple Barricades. A basic barricade in the military-defense building menu costs 6 bronze nails, 2 short logs and 2 reinforced planks, and adds 2 quality when complete. Build only the deficit: round (12 − Q) ÷ 2 up, and build none if Q is already 12. At quality 8, for example, two barricades cost 12 nails, 4 short logs and 4 reinforced planks. The carrying checklist above lists one barricade’s cost. Finish construction and check actual total quality; blueprints are not finished defenses.
Report military quality to the captain
At barracks quality at least 12, choose the captain’s military task report. This checks area quality; it is not another delivery of weapons or planks. The website’s packing counts do not perform the dialogue for you.
Deliver the magic bell to the captain
Carry the crafted Magic bell and choose the bell delivery. The task consumes it. Military reporting and bell delivery can happen in either order, but both must be complete before battle preparation.
Finish battle preparation and collect healing potions
After both tasks, speak to the captain about battle preparation. This enables the first battle outpost and gives 2 healing potions. Carry them, check health, your tool belt and the battle tutorial, then interact with the guard outpost to start. The port and dream-dust tasks are not prerequisites.
Defend your base, then capture and hold the enemy flags
Place defenses near the base you need to protect before starting. During battle, pick up a squad flag to lead troops or leave squads on defense. Watch the top progress bar for attack directions and timing before advancing with suitable troops. Clear enemies near their flags and station troops nearby; more participating troops capture faster. Victory requires capturing all enemy flags and holding them until the battle ends, not just touching the first flag. Losing your base or all player health causes defeat. Use carried healing potions when needed and do not abandon all base defense to chase enemies.
Meet Jack at the port bridge after victory
Confirm the victory result and finish the post-battle story, then follow the newly open route to the port bridge for Jack’s reunion dialogue. Finish the port introduction and check for new warehouse, astrologer or Linda tasks. Port access and the reunion mark this guide’s early-game endpoint. The optional stock checks in the next chapter do not change that.
While you wait
Return to the previous chapter if reinforced planks are missing. If military quality is already 12, report it directly. Recovering and arranging defenses matter before battle; maxing every technology does not.
Enough for now
Winning the first battle, entering the port and meeting Jack completes this early-game route. A large army, every outpost and extra stockpiles are not required.
If you are stuck
Barracks quality is 12 and I have the bell, but battle will not start
Check the military-quality report, actual bell delivery and the captain’s battle-preparation conversation before visiting the first battle outpost. Owning the bell is not delivering it.
I captured an enemy flag but the battle is still running
Check whether other enemy flags remain and whether captured flags are still held. Continue until the official victory result; do not leave early.
I lost the first battle
Recover health and replace used potions. Check why the base fell and whether you moved every squad away from defense, then prepare again at the outpost. Website records are manual confirmations; do not mark victory after a defeat.
The first battle is won, the port is open and the reunion dialogue with Jack is complete. You can choose a midgame goal.
Choose a next goal and note unfinished preparations. This chapter is optional housekeeping.
Take your existing setup into the midgame
Town Gratitude, happiness stuck at 20 and green scrolls
Alchemy: unlock it and make your first mix
Zombie resurrection: prepare the corpse, then use the device
Review the new port tasks and pick one to pursue. The early-game route is complete; you do not have to finish all suggestions below.
Steps
Choose one of the new port tasks
After the reunion, Jack’s story leads to warehouse, astrologer and Linda tasks. Meet the relevant character and read the current requirements before deciding what to carry. Do not mass-produce distant requirements for tasks not yet accepted. Task references help check deliveries; technology and recipe pages help trace locked prerequisites.
Optional: check that your home production still works
Check whether the garden needs sowing, whether yard woodworking, kiln, furnace and anvil can operate, and whether the laboratory still has plates and fuel for fat processing. Confirm that your own bronze axe and hammer remain equipped. Delivering a set to Jack does not mean you still own it. Replenish for the next task; there is no universal stockpile target.
Optional: leave a concrete next action
In the notes panel, write whom to meet, what delivery is still missing or which event you are waiting for. Reading position and manually completed steps are saved separately. Clearing carried quantities only affects this chapter’s preparation; it does not undo story deliveries.
While you wait
During the next task’s wait, collect finished batches, process new corpses or organize your bag. Prepare only what serves your chosen goal.
Enough for now
These are handover suggestions, not another story gate. The first-battle and port goals remain complete even if you check nothing in this chapter.
If you are stuck
I returned later and forgot where to continue
Use “Continue reading” at the top to return to the bookmark, then inspect your manually confirmed steps. You can also select your current chapter directly; earlier tasks will not be automatically marked complete.
A next task is chosen or a note is left for next time. No extra stockpile is needed to finish this guide.
Sources and how to use this guide
This guide follows the in-game tutorials, task conditions and recipes, checked against game data.
The route has not been tested in one complete playthrough. If a task has not started, check its in-game prompts and crafting conditions. Prepare each chapter’s materials for their separate uses; you do not need to carry all chapters’ supplies at once.
