From corpse to zombie

Zombie resurrection: prepare the corpse, then use the device

Find the blocked resurrection stage: room unlock, corpse preparation or device activation.

The corpse is on the table but has not become a zombie? Resurrection has two actions: prepare the corpse at Resurrection Table I with liquid and a matching collar, then activate the separate device. This guide checks the room, organs, materials and power conditions for each stage, then shows how to give the new zombie a job.

Start with your situation

The room is locked · Corpse preparation is blocked · The device will not activate

Open the basement room and repair the device

  1. Continue the Plague Doctor’s lab sequence after his Dream Dust request. After the laboratory handoff, the home/sleep continuation leads to the resurrection-room task. If the basement door is not active, continue those tasks rather than building an unrelated table.
  2. At the basement resurrection-room door, complete the opening craft with 1 Bronze Detail and 1 Melted fat. Follow the room task and chest/note interaction. The inspected door recipe requires these materials; a database item called a room key is not an additional requirement of this craft.
  3. Repair the broken Resurrection Device using 1 Bronze Detail and 2 Wooden planks. This reveals the resurrection technology. That technology also has Distillation and skull/teeth autopsy prerequisites; it unlocks the bronze collar recipe and Table I building option.
  4. Build Table I in the morgue’s resurrection-table area: 2 Oiled planks, 4 Polished Stone and 3 Glass. The table is for preparation; the repaired device triggers resurrection.

Choose a corpse and preserve its main organs

Use a delivered corpse and carry it to an empty resurrection table. If no corpse is arriving, check the donkey and body-delivery route first. Resurrection preparation accepts a corpse, not an already resurrected zombie.

Keep Bones, Brain, Heart, Guts, Skin and Skull. Each required type must be present, and its checked organ must not be marked as an autopsy mistake. Removing one for materials can therefore block preparation. Flesh, blood and fat are not in this six-type check; optional changes must still be assessed against the resulting skulls and collar limits.

The game sums red and white skulls from the organs for collar matching. Do not apply GK1’s white-skull worker-speed assumptions here: resurrection eligibility, later worker performance and battle use are separate questions. This guide does not recommend an optimal organ or injection build.

Corpse and donkey checks

Prepare liquid and a matching collar

Older tutorial text mentions Faith; the inspected transition recipe and preparation checks do not establish a separate Faith charge.

  • Each prepared corpse consumes 1 Reanimation Liquid and 1 selected collar. The current transition recipe does not list a separate Faith cost. Faith needed to manufacture a collar or for earlier research is a different expense.
  • A Bronze Collar accepts 0–5 red skulls inclusive; its white-skull fields do not impose an active interval check. Its Jeweler table recipe uses 1 Bronze ingot, 1 Blue Crystal and 3 Faith. For a different corpse, choose a collar whose displayed skull requirements fit.
  • To make liquid yourself, unlock Reanimation Liquid through the Astrologer-40 technology branch, costing 30 red, 40 green and 50 blue technology points. Its rune target is 2 red, 1 green and 4 blue. The recorded combinations use three ingredients, so use a three-slot mixer, studied ingredients and one internal flask per batch. Check the recipe library for the selected ingredients; Dream Dust is an earlier starter recipe, not a liquid substitute.

Prepare the table, then activate the device

  1. Carry the corpse to an empty Table I and interact to place it. Inspect the table and its organs, skulls and required materials.
  2. Open the collar slot and select a compatible collar from your inventory. When all checks pass, choose Prepare. This consumes the liquid and collar and marks the table as prepared; it is not the final power-device action.
  3. Normally wait for Envy day and use the repaired Resurrection Device while power is available. Select its resurrection action. The device checks for prepared tables and starts their transitions. A storm-buff path also permits activation outside the normal day/power checks; this guide does not require you to unlock or create that optional storm.
  4. Let the transition finish. A completed zombie on the table with preparation cleared can be taken when your overhead carrying slot is free. Pick it up, then place or assign it at the intended workplace.

Checks for each blocked stage

  • Door or device unavailable: continue the room task, complete its door recipe and device repair, then check the table technology’s prerequisites.
  • No body or missing organs: insert a corpse into an empty table; restore every required main organ type with a non-mistake organ, or choose another suitable corpse. Cosmetic names do not replace organs.
  • No liquid or no collar: supply the displayed liquid requirement and select a collar. If no collar can be selected, compare its skull interval with this corpse; merely owning a collar is insufficient.
  • Table prepared but nothing happens: use the separate device. No power or wrong day is a device-stage issue, not a reason to consume another set of preparation materials. In the ordinary path, wait for the next Envy day; after activation the power flag is cleared.
  • Finished zombie cannot be taken: free the overhead carrying slot and check that the transition has finished. Population penalties and idle-worker problems require their own checks; they are not a shared missing-liquid diagnosis.

Give the new zombie its first job

After placing the zombie at a workplace, check the assigned job, equipped tool, mastery, materials and finished-output pickup. Use PR capacity checks if the population penalty appears. Resurrection and worker troubleshooting have separate success conditions.
