How to Make Money in Graveyard Keeper 2
Plan sales around merchant stock and the price curve, without assuming a fixed best item.

On this page
Sell in manageable batches, compare buyers, and recheck the price after each game day. Merchant stock returns toward its baseline at day end; a weekly reset concerns town merchant trading allowance, not the ordinary price recovery.
Why the next sale can pay less
Vendor prices respond to stock relative to a baseline. Selling a large amount at once can push stock up and reduce the next unit price. Price modifiers, integer rounding, and fixed price items limit any simple percentage prediction. The best item depends on your production cost, available merchants, and current stock.
Fixed-price goods are an exception to the stock-based curve. Update 1.006 corrects the first-purchase price increase for those goods; do not use that older behavior when estimating costs. For crafted goods, recheck current ingredients and fuel in the recipe reference before comparing profit.
A practical selling loop
- Record the offered price for one item at the merchant you can reach.
- Sell a small batch and check the next offer before committing the rest.
- If the offer drops, try a different merchant or wait until after a day end for stock recovery.
- Compare net proceeds with material and energy costs; do not assume a high sale price means high profit.
This is a conditional strategy, not a measured best route for every save.
What to keep in mind
This advice follows merchant rules recorded for the full game. A weekly reset refreshes town trading allowance. Individual prices and the strongest money route have not been checked through a full playthrough.
